Google Maps doesn’t work even with inserted API key

If your Google Map still doesn’t work even you’ve inserted the Google Maps API key in Theme Options, open the browser console on the page where Google Map should be displayed to see an error message.

All error messages are listed on official Google documentation page: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages

The most common issues are described below:

  • Google Maps API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError

You’ve defined website URLs in the wrong format as HTTP referrer or your website that has a problem with Google Map is not defined as HTTP referral at all and has to be added to the list of allowed websites (if you are using HTTP referrals that are allowed to use your API key). The best format of website URL may be: yourdomain.com/

This tutorial is related to our WordPress Directory theme that you can find in our portfolio.
